Hi,
here’s this week’s
Switch Weekly
, with all the Nintendo links worth checking out.
The dust has now well and truly settled after E3, and in case you missed it in amongst all the news and excitement:
Yoshi for the Switch got delayed
until next year. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Anyway, the big game this week is
Mario Tennis Aces
. I’ve been playing it, and although the single player Adventure feels a bit lacking, the multiplayer is rock solid. I’ve seen many people call this a fighting game in disguise, and I kinda agree — it can get real intense online. Now, I do have a few niggles with how the online works
(playing with friends needs to be easier)
but the online tournaments overall are a blast. I’ve linked up a review and a round-up below if you’re still debating picking it up.
Lots of good stuff hitting the eShop this week, including Limbo, Crash Bandicoot and Wolfenstein. The full list is below!
Thanks for reading and enjoy the issue.
Cheers,
Chris

A more unified Nintendo is the secret to the Switch’s massive success
An interview with Nintendo’s Shinya Takahashi on the company’s current structure, and how they approach projects. My favourite line:
“If we didn’t have a deadline, we might still be working on Super Mario Bros 3 for the Famicom.”

A solid Wii U port that doesn’t offer

Pokémon Let’s Go! Pikachu and Eevee is a startlingly basic reboot
It’s telling that the Pokemon Company made a point of pre-announcing that a ‘full’ Pokemon RPG is coming to the Switch in 2019. Here’s some thoughts on the stripped back approach for 2018’s “Let’s Go” games.
