|
Despicable Board. Hey, Chris here with issue #239 of Switch Weekly, your update on all things Nintendo. Over the next seven days we’ve got around 25 games coming to the Switch including Monster Hunter Stories 2 and Ys IX. The full list is below as ever. If you’re a Community level patron we’re playing Wild Guns throughout July — details here .
Finally, I seemed to upset the email gods last week, as the newsletter sadly ended up in junk for a lot of folks. If you did miss it and want to catch up
you can do so here

Ultimate: Mr. Sakurai presents “Kazuya” — A forty minute deep-dive into the latest Smash DLC character (who is out now), and news of new Mii fighters (including Shantae and Dante). Nintendo // YouTube INTERVIEW Monster Hunter finally broke the west, but it wants to go broader still — ” We’ve created this really great global community of Monster Hunter fans, many of whom have come in through the more recent games. Martin Robinson // Eurogamer PREVIEW Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is the cult series’ Yakuza 0 moment — Out later this month, this ” prequel could spark interest in new fans to check out other entries in the series “. Here’s another positive preview from Chris Scullion at VGC. George Yang // Inverse REVIEW Sky: Children of the Light — ” perhaps the best experience you can get for free on the Switch to date “. Ollie Reynolds // Nintendo Life thatgamecompany on Sky: Children Of The Light and seeking humanity’s ‘brighter side’ Thomas Whitehead // Nintendo Life REVIEW Doki Doki Literature Club Plus — ” covers dark subjects most titles wouldn’t dream of approaching, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! left my jaw on the floor multiple times “. This one seems to be reviewing very well , but I’ve seen a fair number of concerns when it comes to accessibility / text legibility . Andrew Thornton // Hey Poor Player How Super Rare Shorts aims to fuel small devs with physical-only launches Danielle Partis // gamesindustry Star Fox’s co-programmer says he’d like to make a new game with no ‘gimmicks’ Chris Scullion // VGC REVIEW Mario Golf Super Rush: Another delightfully different Switch sports game — I shared a couple of reviews in last week’s issue, but liked this one from Jordan Oloman, so figured it was worth sharing for those of you still undecided. ” I don’t think it’s worth picking up Mario Golf Super Rush for the campaign unless you’re a solo player really keen on arcade golf and the Mario property. However, it’s an absolute no-brainer if you’re part of a big family who enjoy Mario sports games “. Jordan Oloman // NME REVIEW Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Ghoul Patrol — Hmm, looks like this is a pretty basic port: ” probably the worst way to play Zombies Ate My Neighbors ever “. Stuart Gipp // Nintendo Life REVIEW Destroy All Humans — Sounds like a solid enough port of this well liked shooter. George Foster // Nintendo Insider REVIEW Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny Kazuma Hashimoto // Siliconera Kate Gray // Nintendo Life Breath Of The Wild is the best designed open world ever made, and the rain is partly why Kirk McKeand // The Gamer How Mother Brain could return in Metroid Dread Ben Lamoreux // Nintendo Enthusiast The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess is still one of the series’ best games Cian Maher // The Gamer
