The Best Games Under $10 in the Nintendo Holiday Sale

Nintendo’s bumper Holiday Sale has just gotten underway, discounting thousands of Switch and Switch 2 games across the eShop — just in time for the festive period. Games on sale include the likes of Animal Well, BALL x PIT, Cyberpunk 2077, and countless others.

Whether you’re looking to pick up a game or two to play over the Christmas break, or just after some games to spend some eShop credit on, there’s bound to be a game (or five) that will catch your eye here. I’ve just gone through the various games on offer and picked out a selection of budget-friendly highlights.

Now, one thing to note about Nintendo’s sales is that you’ll often find a game is discounted in one region, but not another, so these deals aren’t always global. It’s a weird quirk that I don’t really understand — however, pretty much all of the games I’ve highlighted below are discounted in most regions. I’ve noted prices in US dollars, Euros, and British Pounds where applicable. The sale runs until early January.

All of the games below come in at under ten bucks. So, here are my picks for the best sub-$10 Nintendo Switch games you can grab in the Nintendo Holiday Sale.

🛍️ Nintendo Holiday Sale Bargains

Tinykin$6.24 | €6.24 | £5.39

Quite possibly one of my favourite games on the original Switch. It’s like taking Pikmin and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids and smashing them together for a small-scale adventure that’s full of charm. There’s a demo on eShop if you need some more convincing.

Tinykin

Quadroids$1.99 €1.79 £1.61

I first tried this puzzle platformer at Gamescom a few years back and it left quite the impression on me just for sheer mental gymnastics it asks of you. You control four ‘screens’ at once and your characters will traverse across them, meaning you have to juggle multiple things at once. Starts off simple enough, but soon develops into a meaty mind-bending challenge. You’d be daft not to give it a try at this price.

Quadroids

Haiku, the Robot$6.79 | €6.45 | £5.94

A charming, mechanical, metroidvania 2D action adventure that’s set in a world full of corrupt robots and machines.

Haiku, the Robot

Hades$7.49 | €7.49 | £6.74

Hades II made quite the splash when its full release arrived earlier this year, however if you’ve not played either, then grabbing the original at a discounted price is a solid move. Supergiant Games’ celebrated Greek mythology hack and slash roguelike sees you attempt to escape the Underworld. Good luck.

Hades

Monster Hunter Rise$7.99 | €7.99 | £6.99

Capcom’s highly-acclaimed action RPG from 2021 has a meaty 80% discount during this sale, meaning you can hunt and battle massive monsters at a bargain all-time low price. You can also grab it with the Sunbreak DLC for a couple of bucks more.

Monster Hunter Rise

Celeste$4.99 | €4.99 | £4.49

A masterclass in precision platforming. This challenging 2D adventure from 2018 sees you not only scale a mountain but also go on quite the personal journey too. It’s superb, the soundtrack rules, and I honestly need to revisit this one.

Celeste

Mega Man 11$4.49 €4.49 | £3.74

A new Mega Man just got announced, so maybe you fancy doing some Mega Man homework before it arrives? There’s a demo for this Blue Bomber action platformer too.

Mega Man 11

Horace$5.99 | €5.99 | £4.39

A unique, rich platformer that’s packed with amusing pop culture references and is generally a solid slice of nostalgia. It’s the “unmissable tale of a small robot on a big adventure“.

Horace

Dicey Dungeons$1.99 | €1.49 | £1.34

Roll the dice on this lovely deckbuilding roguelike from Terry Cavanagh. You’re tasked with battling your way through an ever-changing dungeon, and you’ll need luck on your side.

Dicey Dungeons

Dr. Fetus’ Mean Meat Machine — $1.99 | €1.99 | £1.59

This one is purely here for those who enjoyed the Puyo Puyo puzzle antics of Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine in the 90s and fancies some more of the same at a bargain price. Demo available.
