NESBOOK

The NESBOOK is a Nintendo Entertainment System Companion Coffee Book

A new coffee table book celebrating Nintendo’s much-loved 8-bit home console is on the way.

This upcoming 200+ page publication features history, insight and nostalgia, covering the best games from the varied NES library.

Nintendo’s grey box arrived in North America in 1985, 40 years ago. It didn’t make it across the pond to the UK until 1987 — when I was born. I’m nearly as old as the NES.

Anyway, Stuart Gipp, of Retronauts, is the lead writer on this one, and his work will be joined by other pieces from Chris Scullion, John Rairdin, and others.

The NESBOOK is available starting at £30 and comes in either standard, deluxe, or signed editions. The book is expected to start shipping in January of next year.

Backing a Kickstarter can often feel like a bit of a stab in the dark, but this project comes via Ninty Media, the folks behind magazines such as Switch Player and Ninsight, along with other books covering the Game Boy hardware lineup. So, it’s safe to say they have a rock-solid track record when it comes to delivering on the promise of the campaign.

Looks like it’s shaping up to be a lovely companion piece to Nintendo’s pivotal path-setting machine.

At time of writing the project has just over £15,000 pledged of its £20,000 goal. With 13 days to go, this one looks like a winner.

Back the NESBOOK on Kickstarter.
