Hello,
here’s issue 108 of Switch Weekly, bringing together the Nintendo news you need to know from the past week.
First up:
Smash Bros. for the Switch is out in just a few days!
I remember getting the very first entry in the series for
Christmas on the N64 back in 1999
(writing that out made me realise that was nearly 20 years ago…)
I haven’t preordered just yet, as I’m still undecided on whether to go physical or digital.
Anyway, following some Xbox FIFA action in the office, I decided to pick up FIFA 19 for the Switch
(it was on sale)
— now, I’m enjoying it, and it’s a solid portable version of EA’s annual footy romp, but I just
can’t get a game online
. I guess no one else is playing it!
So, a bit of a quiet week before Smash hits, but the usual links and releases are detailed below. If Smash ain’t your thing, I’d say maybe Gear.Club Unlimited 2, the Sega Classics collection and Carcassone may be worth a look.
REVIEW
Horizon Chase Turbo:
“enormously entertaining”
This throwback racer is described as a
“love letter to a gaming era when the cars were fast, the music was catchy, the action was smooth and the sky was bluer than an Eddie Murphy stand-up routine”.
Sounds good to me.

Sword & Sworcery: The history of a weird and beautiful game
A look back at how Sword and Sworcery came to be. This article is a few years old, but seeing as the game has just came out on the Switch, this may be worth a look if the game is of interest.
