A new home.
Hey! This is issue #122 of Switch Weekly , with this week’s round-up of Nintendo Switch news and upcoming games. The keen eyed amongst you may notice a few slight design changes this week — I’m sending these emails on a new system (which makes it a little cheaper for me to send) , so I took moving over to a new setup as an opportunity to give things a little tweak. It’s all still in testing so do let me know if the email looks funky for you. You can just hit reply to this message with any feedback. If you signed up to Switch Weekly to get the survey results and missed the email last week you can read them here , or if you’d prefer, watch a video where I talk through the results . Oh, and whilst I’ve got you, I’d love if you could subscribe to Switch Weekly on YouTube – I’m not far off 100 subs so hitting that milestone would be nice! Anyway, all the usual news, articles and upcoming releases are below.
Thanks for reading

Nintendo at 130: ‘It’s on us to create that wow moment for players’ — Developers Shinya Takahashi and Hisashi Nogami talk to Keza MacDonald to reflect on Nintendo’s creative process and legacy. Keza MacDonald // The Guardian Don’t write off Nintendo’s latest stab at VR — Nintendo’s low-tech take on VR with Labo “might just solve a number of problems that still malign this promising, but slow-to-launch, format” . I’m down for this: it’s going to be weird, out there Nintendo (best Nintendo) . Jon Irwin // Variety ▶ The State of Switch 2019: Nintendo Survey Results — If you missed the write-up in last week’s issue, I also created a video going through all the findings. Switch Weekly // YouTube How to fix a drifting Switch Joy-Con analogue stick — A good number of those responding to the survey mentioned Joy-Con issues. This guide aims to help. Gavin Lane // Nintendo Life REVIEW Golf Peaks — A stylish and satisfying game with ” bite-sized puzzles perfect for tackling in handheld mode when you’re out and about” . Ryan Janes // Nintendo Insider Microsoft officially announces Xbox Live for iOS and Android — Despite rumours suggesting otherwise, there’s no mention of Switch just yet . Rich Woods // NeoWin Why is Google adding Nintendo controller support to Chrome? — Ok, Microsoft might not be ready to play ball with Nintendo, but what about Google? I’ve no idea what all this may culminate in, but with big players all making noises around game streaming it’s going to be really interesting to see it all unfold . Rachel Kaser // The Next Web REVIEW ▶ Turok for Switch: Still a classic? — This much loved N64 title is making its way to the Switch next week, and amusingly you can tweak the fog levels… Here’s an alternative video review if you fancy another take. Switch Watch // YouTube REVIEW Baba Is You: one of the best puzzle games in years — I’m seeing a lot of praise for this one. Sounds intriguing: “Every video game has its own rules, but in the case of Baba Is You, the rules are the game. In the new puzzle game from Arvi Teikari, the rules exist literally within its world, ready to be remixed”. Chris Plante // Polygon Suda51 & Capcom producer “promise” Killer7 extended console cut Andy Robinson // Nintendo Life Sayonara Wild Hearts could be the feel-good game of the year Colin Campbell // Polygon
