Wump start your engines 🥭
Hey, here’s issue #135 of Switch Weekly , with your digest of need to know Nintendo news. First up, I just wanted to say hi to any new recent subscribers, and extend a thanks to those of you who are long time readers — last week’s issue was a big one, and it seems plenty of you enjoyed it. So thanks for the feedback and kind words. 😊 This week I’ve been continuing playing through Final Fantasy VII. You may be surprised to read that I’ve never played it before now, so going through it for the first time on Switch is proving….interesting. I’m curious to see how certain scenes will be handled in the remake. Anyway, other than FF7, I also picked up the Crash Team Racing remaster . I played a little bit of the original back on the original PlayStation so wanted to check out how the only ‘real challenger’ to Mario Kart stacks up today. I’ve not put much time into it just yet, but it’s a real visual treat, and seems really faithful to the original, however I will say, I’m not too keen on the drifting mechanic. Beyond what I’ve been playing, there’s been further rumblings doing the rounds this week about new Switch hardware – chiefly a new ‘mini’ model — however most of the conversation is based on Chinese case production, so although new hardware is seemingly inevitable, I don’t feel there’s much worth linking too about this just yet. The big highlight next week: Super Mario Maker 2. All the usual stuff below!
Thanks for reading,
