Cheers love! The direct is here.
Hi , here’s issue #146 of Switch Weekly, with the Nintendo news you need to see. Well, last week I put forward that a Direct was no doubt on the horizon, and we got one only a few days later. There are so many announcements and things to go through — if you get chance watch the presentation (linked below), if not I’ve covered what I think are the highlights here. The big release next week is Daemon X Machina.
Thanks for reading, and catch you next time,
▶ Nintendo Direct – September 4, 2019 — As I suspected in last week’s issue , we got a new Direct! This nearly 40-minute presentation was packed with announcements, including SNES games for Switch Online members, a free-to-start Kirby game, another look at Little Town Hero, and the confirmation that Overwatch is coming to the Switch. I may have to double dip on that one. Nintendo // YouTube ▶ First look at a new experience for Nintendo Switch — This teaser trailer shows off a new official Switch accessory — one that looks like some sort of fitness experience. Again, just like with Labo, Nintendo chose to keep this out of a usual Direct presentation and announce it on its own. We find out more about this seemingly Wii Fit-esque experience on Thursday ( September 12 ). Interesting! Nintendo // YouTube ▶ SNES on Nintendo Switch Online: All 20 launch games explained — Chris Scullion breaks down all 20 of the SNES games that launched on the Switch Online service this week. If you’re a Switch Online subscriber – which game are you playing through first ? Tired Old Hack // YouTube Nintendo files new patent for hinged Joy-Con controller Liam Doolan // Nintendo Life REVIEW Spyro Reignited Trilogy — “A brilliant remaster that has wiped the dust off the original Spyro trilogy and given it a lease of new life in the hope of introducing Spyro to a new generation of gamers. The Nintendo Switch feels like the most suitable home for a family friendly mascot platformer” . However, Chris White writing for God is a Geek raised some performance concerns with this Switch version. Robert Carnevale // Cubed 3 ▶ REVIEW Creature in the Well Nintendo World Report // YouTube REVIEW River City Girls — “you’ll be hard-pressed to find a game this year with more style and confidence” Caty McCarthy // USGamer Smash Ultimate adding SNK’s Terry Bogard, Banjo-Kazooie available now —You can play the bird and bear duo right now, with Terry coming in November. Sakurai also confirmed that more DLC fighters are planned for the game — which is madness. Nathan Birch // WCCF Tech
