#147: Your Nintendo Update
Your Nintendo digest for the week ending September 15.
|
Fit ring.
Hey , issue #147 of Switch Weekly here, with a bumper-filled issue packed with the Nintendo news and links that are worth your time. We have over 25 games hitting the eShop next week , including Grid Autosport, Castle Crashers, Overland, Devil May Cry 2, Sayonara Wild Hearts, Untitled Goose Game, and Lego Jurassic World. Of course we also have Link’s Awakening dropping next Friday , and just look at how adorable it is . I think I’ll be picking up a few of these, so it’s a bad week for my wallet. 😬 Do let me know on Twitter what you’re picking up . Review links to Daemon X Machina below, reaction to Nintendo’s latest oddball creation ‘Ring Fit Adventure’ (from the team that brought you LABO), plus a ton of quick links for you to check out. Anyway, I just wanted to end with a big thanks for your support and contiued readership — I get a real kick out of putting this digest together, especially when it’s a busy week with plenty to talk about. 😊
Catch you next time,
REVIEW Daemon X Machina — ” At its core Daemon X Machina is a solid mech action game ” but ” Its mission structure can get repetitive, and its plot is so difficult to grasp it may as well be soaked in grease” . This one (out now) doesn’t seem to be an outright hit, with the critics seemingly praising it for doing one thing well, but running out of tricks fast. Chris Scullion // Nintendo Life ▶ Ring Fit Adventure reveal trailer — I touched upon this in last week’s issue , and now we know more! If you can look beyond the somewhat creepy , slightly offputting style the presenters employ here, this game looks really neat. It mixes the exercise heritage of Wii Fit (by way of a physical ‘Ring-Con’ accessory) with all the gamification trappings of a conventional RPG. This looks like it will strike the right balance between accesible ‘blue-ocean’ broad appeal and being a game most will be comfortable sinking time into. We shall see. Out in October for around $80.
