#149: Your Nintendo Update
Your Nintendo digest for the week ending September 29.
|
Dragon Questing.
Hey , I’ve just got back from running a half marathon, so I’m pretty exhausted – time to spend the rest of the day relaxing playing games I think…but first here’s this week’s newsletter , with your Nintendo update. Now, last week I mentioned that the original Dragon Quest games (the first three) were hitting the eShop. Turns out the games are also getting a boxed 3-in-1 release in Japan – thought I’d make a note of it for any import collectors reading. Looks like no particularly heavy-hitters are arriving next week, but Sniper Elite 3 and Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered are coming out. Are you planning on picking anything up? Anyway, that’s all from me. As ever, appreciate you taking the time to read this.
Have a great week,
REVIEW
Dragon Quest 11 S: “Hard not to recommend over any other version”
— The definitive edition of this
“quintessential JRPG
”
has seen
universal acclaim
from critics, and it seems the jump to a hybrid handheld hasn’t hurt the experience at all.
REVIEW Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition — “dazzles in beauty and splendor” . If you’ve yet to play this elsewhere, the author claims that this is an easy recommendation for any Switch owner. Ben Fruzzetti // Nintendo Wire REVIEW Dead by Daylight — “a competent port” , but seemingly one that isn’t as great as it could be, with occasional performance issues. Brandon Adams // Attack of the Fanboy Australian rating could mean we’re getting GTA III on Switch —Admittedly, this is just pure speculation based on some activity at the Australian Classification Board , but hey, sometimes you have to will the things you want into existence. This is my favourite entry in the GTA series, so I’d love to replay it on Switch (I played through all of it again on the iPhone years ago…and that was quite the ordeal ). Damien McFerran // Nintendo Life ▶ Jedi Outcast on Nintendo Switch is still a classic — Claims it looks good, but more could have been done to make it more palatable to modern audiences. However, this other video recommends avoiding this port altogether. Spawn Wave // YouTube ▶ 16 exciting new games coming to Nintendo Switch in October Nintendo Life Simon Cardy // IGN
