#165: Your Nintendo Update

Nintendo doesn’t have to refund digital preorders, according to European court — This seems dumb. If you pre-order a game, and then change your mind…. well you can’t . There’s currently no way to cancel a pre-order and Nintendo seems to want to keep it that way. A judge agrees this is fine — the wrong decision in my mind. Here’s the original Norwegian reporting on this .

• Actual Sunlight — Short interactive adventure about love and depression.

• Music Racer — Neon soaked rhythm racing game.
• Coffee Talk — Coffee shop sim. Listening to the customers is just as important as the brew.
• Bookbound Brigade — Metroidvania. You’ll come up against the greats of classic literature. (Jan 30 in U.S)
• Horse Farm — Farmville-style app ported to the Switch.

Thursday, January 30

• Hypercharge Unboxed — Co-op FPS with online multiplayer. Toy Soldiers vibes. (Jan 31 in U.S)
• Prison Princess — Japanese puzzle adventure.
• Aviary Attorney — Think Pheonix Wright but with birds, set in the 1840s. Nice visual style.
• Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire — Vertical shooter with sibling rivalry.
• Code Shifter — ‘Absurd’ side-scroller action platformer about squashing bugs. (Jan 29 in U.S)
• Skellboy — Cute action RPG in which you play as a square, flexible skeleton.
• Speaking Simulator — Move your mouth convincingly enough and you may pass as human.
• Uoris DX — Some sort of Tetris-style puzzler.
• Eclipse: Edge of Light — 3D-adventure game on a sentient planet.
• Ascendant Hearts — Visual novel.
• Never Again — A first-person horror adventure, with puzzles to solve.

• Willy Jetman: Astromonkey’s Revenge — Pixel arcade shooter, inspired by 90s ‘classics’.
• Bridge Constructor — Ultimate Edition of this bridge building game, with all the DLC.
• Heroland — Retro RPG adventure. 📦 (Already available in U.S)
• Ash of Gods: Redemption — Take on an ‘ancient mythical evil’ in this tactical RPG.
• Not Tonight: Take Back Control Edition — Yes, a game about Brexit releasing on Brexit day.
• Touchdown Pinball — Some themed pinball just before the Superbowl.
• Reknum — Platformer with 8/16 bit graphics.
• Super Battle Cards — Card game featuring the usual baddies you’d encounter in a dungeon.
• Milo’s Quest — Budget adventure game in which you play as a dog taking on evil.
