👋 Hi , here’s this week’s issue of Switch Weekly, with the Nintendo news you need to see. It was great to see so many of you join the Switch Weekly Discord last week, if you missed, it I opened up the chat room to new folks and a ton of you joined — you can join here and let us know how much of your backlog you’ve been tackling lately. 😄 Anyway, not much to say from me, other than another solid issue I reckon with plenty to dig into. Next week we’ve got just over 20 games hitting the eShop , including Picross S4 and Trials of Mana.

Nintendo Switch System Update 10.0.0 is now live — Jumping from version 9.2.0 to 10.0.0, this update brings several new features, but the big story is remappable buttons — a good move for accessibility . Liam Doolan // Nintendo Life Picross S4 announced — After teasing it was on the way developer Jupiter confirmed that a new entry in the popular nonogram-puzzler was on the way. The best part? It’s arriving next week on April 23rd ( trailer and details at the link above ). The first three games in the series are also on sale right now ( for the first time ever ) if you fancy a picross overload. Jupiter Crysis Remastered confirmed, and it’s coming to the Nintendo Switch Daniel Vuckovic // Vooks REVIEW A Fold Apart — A short experience that’s got “clever puzzle gameplay that becomes surprisingly complex and challenging”, . A.J. Maciejewski // Video Chums Resellers using checkout bots are driving the Nintendo Switch shortage —Yeah, the current Switch shortage isn’t just down to pure consumer demand, as scalpers are of course getting in on the act. This is the vexing story behind those snapping up consoles to turn a quick profit. Joseph Cox // Vice Genius gamer builds a Switch from scratch to battle price gougers Ryan Houlihan // Input REVIEW Hyper Jam — Multiplayer arena combat that’s ” mirror polished, competent and great fun “. Here’s another review from Jason Capp at Switch Watch . Ben Szabadics // Vooks REVIEW Path of Giants —” a cheap and accessible puzzle title that’s far less strenuous than others in its genre ” . Jake Parr // The Video Game Almanac REVIEW Fight of Animals —This fighter is summed up as feeling a little dated and lacking, but may be worth the budget price tag for a bit of throwaway fun. Elisha Deogracias // Gaming Trend Covid-19 leaves news and entertainment industries reeling — Now this piece isn’t heavily focused on gaming — it highlights how the current global crisis will inevetiably result in a drought of entertainent content for consumers to enjoy. The Switch gets a passing mention, but it’s interesting to me how gaming can both suffer from the same issues highlighted here, and be a solution for many who have ran out of things to watch on Netflix. Jim Waterson and Mark Sweney // The Guardian 💌 Keep Switch Weekly ad-free: Support the newsletter on Patreon . The best Nintendo Switch music and rhythm games Gavin Lane // Nintendo Life Nintendo’s Animal Crossing is the biggest hit of the lockdown Takashi Mochizuki and Yuki Furukawa // Bloomberg Cooking Mama Cookstar’s publisher insists it is within its rights to publish the game Jenni Lada // Siliconera Daryl Baxter // Stealth Optional Getty Images: Animal Crossing Art Generator —This is a neat little web-experiment from Getty . You can transform classic paintings and import them into Animal Crossing. Anyone for an original Van Gogh? 😅🖼 Getty
