Your Nintendo digest for the week ending January 17.

Massive fury.
👋 Hi, issue #215 of Switch Weekly here, with an update on everything Nintendo. Hope you’re doing well. This week saw Nintendo share a trailer offering up a look at what’s new in the 3D World expansion . More on that below, but it’s looking neat. We also got a New Pokemon Snap trailer ( I’m guessing that’s the actual name now then.. .) and release date. Again, it’s all linked up below. With us having a release date for Snap, the early 2021 Switch lineup is looking decent , with Mario, Breavely Default II, Monster Hunter Rise and New Pokemon Snap all arriving within the next three months. Good stuff. Next week sees just over 30 games hitting the eShop, and includes the cloud version of Hitman 3, the full list is below as ever. As I mentioned last week, I’ve been playing through Super Meat Boy Forever , and I’ve just published my review — I’ve linked it up in the issue below. Please do check it out!
Finally, I just want to note that I’ve just
hit a longstanding goal over on my Patreon
. 🎉 Thank you so much to those who chose to

🎮 Currently Playing — Rocket League, Super Meat Boy Forever, Donkey Kong Country 3 REVIEW Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition — ” Bombastic presentation and crunchy combat gameplay make this one enjoyable from start to finish. “. Mitch Vogel // Nintendo Life ▶ New Pokémon Snap arrives on April 30 — Oh snap. Pretty excited about this one. A new trailer shared this week gave us a good look at the game, and revealed a release date. Nice. Pokemon // YouTube ▶ A Bigger Badder Bowser – Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury — Nintendo shared this two minute look at what you can expect from the Bowser’s Fury expansion coming to the Super Mario 3D World re-release. Bowser is looking pretty epic, and even Mario gets in on being super sized. Looks fun. Nintendo // YouTube REVIEW Super Meat Boy Forever — I was surprised by this. On face value an auto-runner with procedural elements didn’t sound like the most appealing thing, but as a fan of the original game this is enough like it to get a pass. Read my full review , or if you’d rather, here’s a YouTube version I’ve put together ( subscribe whilst you’re there ). Chris Brandrick // Switch Weekly Platinum wants to finally reveal Bayonetta 3 this year, says Hideki Kamiya Andy Robinson // VGC PREVIEW Persona 5 Strikers: Back To Take Your Heart All Over Again — Due to arrive in late February, here’s an early look at what you can expect. Cullen Black // Nintendo Insider REVIEW Wrestling Empire — ” It’s low-budget, it’s extremely rough and it’s often difficult to watch, but there’s a clear passion for pro wrestling underneath it and we’re sure it’ll develop a hardcore following of fans who love it in spite of its many, many flaws. “. Chris Scullion // Nintendo Life REVIEW Wingspan — Said to be a ” fine adaption of the physical board game and a much cheaper way of playing it “. Ryan Janes // Nintendo Insider What is “The Nintendo Difference”? — Speaks to the staying power of Nintendo, and their products.
