#268: Your Nintendo Update
Your Nintendo digest for the week ending February 6.
|
Thoughts? Hello , here’s issue # 268 of Switch Weekly — your round-up of all things Nintendo. Yep, it’s that time again — the State of Switch survey is back for the fifth year running! If you don’t know it’s my annual questionnaire on all things Nintendo — last year over 10,000 people took part . This year we have a few new questions on things such as the OLED model, the NSO ‘Expansion Pack’, bluetooth audio, and more. It will take about 15 minutes to complete, and you can find it right here . I’ll be sharing the results in Switch Weekly later next month. Please do spread the word! A really busy one on the eShop next week, as there are over 40 games coming to the Switch, with plenty of variety . My highlight has to be OlliOlli World. Those questionable Cloud versions of Kingdom Hearts are also landing. The full list is below for you. My copy of Pokemon Legends arrived, but due to me preparing the survey most of this week I haven’t had chance to play much. I’ve only played the first hour so far.

Here’s my video announcing that the survey is open . Switch Weekly Switch sales top 103 million, now Nintendo’s best-selling home console — Big milestone this week as the Switch tops the Wii to become Nintendo’s biggest home console success, and all this despite the console still having a few years ahead of it yet — infact company President Furukawa remarked that the Switch is “just in the middle of its lifecycle”. Stephany Nunneley // VG247 REVIEW OlliOlli World is a challenging but joyous celebration of skateboarding — This one was high on my watch list, so I’m thrilled to see it getting great reviews. It’s out next week. “The visual aesthetic of OlliOlli World and its weird whimsy is just as much of a draw as the precision gameplay [..] it amplifies the joy and generosity of a world built on an earnest love of skateboarding”. Here’s another couple of glowing reviews from Nintendo World Report , and Switch Player . Nicole Carpenter // Polygon REVIEW Land of Screens Josh Friscia // Nintendo Enthusiast
