Nintendo Switch 2 will now launch in 2025 — VGC, Eurogamer and Bloomberg have all weighed in on this story with several sources now suggesting the next hardware from Nintendo will arrive in early 2025. It’s funny to see others paint this as a ‘delay’ — you can’t really call this a delay when it wasn’t even announced. Anyway, it’s somewhat of a pity to see things potentially pushed back, and it does lean into that narrative of Nintendo struggling to make a success of console transitions — but in the grand scheme of things I don’t think it will really hurt the chances of whatever Nintendo has cooking. More time to nail the software line-up for year-one can only be a good thing. Oh, and the same thing is said to have happened with the NX (Switch), and that worked out all ok. Another year to tackle the backlog? What do you make of this news — hit reply and lemme know! Andy Robinson // VGC REVIEW Mario vs. Donkey Kong is fine, but Nintendo remade the wrong game — Oli notes that he’d rather have seen a refresh of the 1994 Game Boy entry (as it’s the better game), but shares that this updated effort is good all the same. I’ve been playing it this weekend , and it’s a solid puzzler, if a little pedestrian and I agree that the ” precise, constrained gameplay takes a little acclimatization “, especially coming off the back of the fluid way Mario moves in Wonder. Nintendo Life called it a good ‘low-pressure’ option that may suit younger gamers. Willem Hilhorst at Nintendo World Report called it ” an expertly crafted hommage to the [..] CDi games, that captures the lost potential of these titles “.
