Ahead of Switch 2, Nintendo sets the expectations for the rest of 2024 — Nintendo shared their financial results for the fiscal year (ending in March) earlier this week, revealing hardware figures, software sales and much more. The Switch is now at 141 million units sold, and the company are looking to add another 14 million hardware sales this current financial year (seems ambitious to me). If you want to dig into the PDF straight from Nintendo, 📑 you can find that here . Chris Brandrick // overkill Nintendo finally admits it’s making the Switch 2 — Just casually in a tweet of course. Oh, and Furukawa called the next console the “Switch next model” — so do with that what you will. Nicole Carpenter // Polygon Switch 2 tech specs may have been found in customs and shipping data — Maybe of little surprise, but both RAM and Memory are claimed to be notably higher than in the OG Switch. Chris Scullion // VGC REVIEW Animal Well — ” is really unlike anything I’ve played [..] By the end, it felt like I’ve seen what the future of the metroidvania genre could hold. “. This one is getting a ton of seemingly universal, excited praise — it looks to be a wildly inventive and intricately designed cryptic game, all from one solo developer (Billy Basso). I liked this review that called it a ‘ maximalist Atari game ‘. The review over at Polygon warns you not to spoil it for yourself before playing. I’ve not tried it yet, but it’s just shot up my wish list.
