▶ Donkey Kong Bananza Direct – A roughly 15-minute look at the new Donkey Kong game arriving next month for Switch 2. I played a brief 10-minute demo at the Switch 2 hands-on event and didn't feel particularly taken by what I saw. However, this presentation got me back on side. There's a lot of variety and fun stuff here. Looking forward to it. BANANERGY. Nintendo // YouTube Nintendo doesn't worry about Donkey Kong lore and neither should you Zack Zwiezen // Kotaku REVIEW Switch 2 Review: Nintendo iterates, not innovates — and that’s ok — "a safe, yet more capable machine that retains everything that made their first hybrid such a hit, enhancing things where needed most. It’s the Switch, but future-proofed for the next decade". I also put together a video version of my review if you'd rather watch along (hitting the like button would be lovely). Chris Brandrick // overkill Metroid Prime 4 ad on London Underground claims the game is ‘out now’ – Spoiler: It ain't. Jordan Middler // VGC The Nintendo Switch 2 is an awesome upgrade for parents like me Sean Hollister // The Verge REVIEW Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army — "has undoubtedly improved a flawed game, but…" Cullen Black // RPG Site REVIEW Welcome Tour: A fun but niche deep dive that didn't need to be pre-installed — "If buying a Switch 2 is the equivalent of going to see a Marvel movie, Welcome Tour is the equivalent of attending a Comic-Con panel – not everyone cares that much about the minutiae of how it was put together, but those who do will get a kick out of it.". Chris Scullion // VGC It was the biggest console launch of all time, but was Nintendo Switch 2 a success for third-parties? — No surprise to see, from the third-part selection, that Cyberpunk 2077 performs the best here. Turns out sticking a game on the actual cartridge is a smart move — who knew. Generally though, the launch line up is a lot of ports, so a lack of feverish enthusiasm isn't wholly surprising here. Christopher Dring // The Game Business Damien McFerran // Nintendo Life This Mario Kart World companion app is coming back to the App Store Chris Brandrick // overkill An ode to the best Mario Kart track — Big agree. I won't tell you what track, but maybe this will give you a hint: "a brief window where Mario Kart drops its whimsy rules and adheres to a stern sense of realism. It is uncharacteristic, but for this reason it stands out. Because it is merciless". Kiki // Transparency I never felt true nostalgia until I played GameCube on Switch 2 Ollie Reynolds // Nintendo Life F-Zero GX proves the Switch 2 can bring GameCube rarities back to life Marc Normandin // Paste A brief history of Shin'en's FAST Racing series Henry Stockdale // Rewinder We need a new Ring Fit Adventure on Switch 2 Simone de Rochefort // Polygon ▶ Melee: The Quest for Sub 3:00 – Another great overview from Summoning Salt, this time looking at the 'Break The Targets' minigame from Smash Bros. Melee. Summoning Salt // YouTube
