dBrand’s new skin adds the color to your Switch 2 Joy-Con

Earlier today Nintendo announced a new colour variant for the Switch 2 Joy-Con — however, to the dismay of many, these new cosmetic options are (much like the original Switch 2 Joy-Con) a tad muted.

Due to arrive on February 12, these new light purple and light green models only have a small splash of colour — found under the analog stick and on the top rail. You may dig this subtle look, but quickly after being announced many folks were quick to bemoan this paired back choice, with numerous comments on social media wishing that Nintendo went for something a bit more bold, hoping to see the company provide some more vivid controller options.

Well, never one to miss an opportunity — dbrand have been quick off the mark to give the folks what they want by way of a Joy-Con skin which covers the entire controllers in these new purple and green colours.

dbrand’s website notes: “Nintendo decided to release new Switch 2 Joy-Con colorways, but once again opted to only show hints of color beneath the thumbsticks. Naturally, we’ve painstakingly colormatched those purple and green accents and applied them to the entire surface of the Joy-Con.“

This new Purple & Green Colormatched skin is up for preorder now for $20 and is shipping next month too. So, if you dig the colorway Nintendo announced today, but don’t really fancy shelling out a ton of cash on a set of new Joy-Con — this is now an option.
