▶ Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Direct — A 22-minute look at the upcoming bizzaro-sim, set to arrive in April. Nintendo of America // YouTube Nintendo will restrict Tomodachi Life image sharing to help the game 'remain fun and safe' — I'm surprised this game, from what I can gather, has no online play to speak of — it seems like a real missed opportunity. I had this down as one of those that would be a viral, long-tail hit of sorts thanks to the quirky, oddball moments that users would no doubt come to share online — that doesn't seem likely at all now. You can't even share clothing designs for example. The rationale for the restrictions seems overly protective, where I think a middle ground could probably have been found? Deven McClure // Polygon Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream will include same-sex relationships and non-binary characters, fulfilling Nintendo's promise — Nice to see Nintendo make good on a promise they made over a decade ago following the release of the 3DS entry. Chris Scullion // VGC Did the Nintendo Switch 2 really have a bad holiday? We asked analysts — There's been mixed reporting on this, but the sales data and some nuances paint a bigger picture. Rebekah Valentine // IGN Damien McFerran // Nintendo Life REVIEW Dispatch — "hooks you until the bitter end with the potential of its ever-changing arcs". Jim Norman // Nintendo Life "The core narrative and gameplay experience remains identical" AdHoc reassures Dispatch players on Switch as it confirms Nintendo platform versions are censored — "We worked with Nintendo to ensure the content within the title met the criteria to release on their platforms". Nintendo shared a somewhat vague statement with GoNintendo in regards to this. Victoria Phillips Kennedy // Eurogamer ▶ Switch 2 game cards may be substantially cheaper now — However, Ryan (of publisher Lost in Cult) shares a word of warning that such moves likely won't be the norm. GVG // YouTube GDC survey shows Switch 2 is proving to be a desirable platform for developers Alana Hagues // Nintendo Life It's 2026 and the Virtual Boy is sold out Chris Brandrick // Hanafuda Report INTERVIEW 'We were a bit late': How a delay saved MIO: Memories in Orbit from disaster Giovanni Colantonio // Polygon DS code editor and scriptable game engine — Software engineer Carl has created a scriptable 3D game engine for the DS, meaning you can write and run games directly on the handheld itself. Touch-based code editor anyone? Carl Enlund // crl.io ▶ Kirby Air Riders shows why GameShare is a huge Switch 2 feature — Having messed around with it over the holidays, yes, GameShare is very good. GVG // YouTube REVIEW GRID Legends Deluxe Edition — Seemingly a cracking game, but let down by the lack of multiplayer. Daniel Vuckovic // Vooks Shin Megami Tensei artist Kazuma Kaneko’s free-to-play AI card game to end services and immediately resurrect as full-price Nintendo Switch exclusive — It's a bold strategy, let's see how it plays out for em…. Đorđe P // Automaton Jack Yarwood // Time Extension ▶ This is going to hurt, isn't it? — A _superb_ video essay on the bittersweet experience of returning to Animal Crossing, Covid memories, finding meaning in the actions taken years ago, and more. Peter Spittech // YouTube Animal Crossing's new island reset feature has set my creativity free Claire Lewis // Polygon REVIEW Turtle Beach Playtrek 2-in-1 Case for Nintendo Switch 2 Justin Prinsloo // Cubed3 I'll never truly RIP until 'The Séance Of Blake Manor' comes to Switch PJ O'Reilly // Nintendo Life There’s a reason that Wii Bowling remains my mum’s favourite game Dominik Diamond // The Guardian ▶ Tetris: From Russia with Love — This BBC documentary is from 2004. I recall watching it at the time and enjoying it. Well, some kind soul has uploaded it to YouTube should it be of interest. YouTube
