The new Pokemon making waves

Hi, Chris here with your latest Nintendo round-up — it’s issue #472 of Hanafuda Report. Hope you’ve had a good week.

Let’s start with: 🎉 Happy 30th Pokemon! The series celebrated its 30th anniversary this week (the original Red and Green games debuted back in 1996). To mark the occasion The Pokemon Company held a presentation in which they revealed the 10th generation games, namely ‘Winds’ and ‘Waves’, coming next year as a Switch 2 exclusive. I’m thrilled to see they are taking a little longer than usual with these, as the franchise has been in need of some time to breath!

Of course, the most exciting part of the reveal was seeing the new starters — Pombon, Gecqua, and Browt. You can see them in the image above, a 🎨 beautifully realised watercolor painting created by Katie Emma (you can see the watercolor come to life in this Twitch VOD). Ok, moving on from Pokemon, I finally sat down to share my thoughts on Mario Tennis Fever — sadly I didn’t really like it, and found the fever rackets more an exercise in frustration than fun. You can read my review here — would be keen to read your thoughts if you have em, just hit reply.
