Hey,
issue 120 of Switch Weekly here, coming to you on the Switch’s second birthday!
The big news this week is
the reveal of the next mainline Pokémon games
. A short Direct introduced both Sword & Shield – they look like a return to a more traditional Pokémon affair
(after last year’s simplified Let’s Go entries)
, plus they seemingly look to be set in a region based on the UK
(where I call home)
, so that’s cool! The presentation is linked below.
The
Switch has now turned two
, and it’s been a real joy. I’ve put countless hours into new Nintendo classics, and discovererd a ton of superb indie games on the platform. I can’t wait to see what’s next. Nintendo marked the occasion with
this cute cake tweet
.
As it’s the Switch’s anniversary, now seems like as good a time as any to
close
the
State of Switch survey
. Over 15,000 of you have now filled it out. I’ll have the results
right here
, next weekend. Fill it out if you haven’t yet, it will be closed in a few hours!
REVIEW
Ape Out
“hysterical, ridiculous, hyper violent and the most fun you can have with your hands on a gorilla”
— This one is
reviewing really well
. I’ve picked it up.

Pauline joins the Mario Tennis Aces line-up
I really need to play more of this. I really loved my time with it, and it’s great to see Nintendo are still supporting it with free content. Kamek & Dry Bones are also on the way.

2019: Year of the Pokémon
With new games, movies and more on the way — it’s amusing to me to think back to when Pokemon first arrived and was decried as a just a fad.
