Nintendo is rebranding its online store

Nintendo announced Monday that it will soon be renaming its online store, going from ‘My Nintendo Store‘, to simply ‘Nintendo Store‘.

At time of writing the change has been announced in several regions, including Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and several European nations. I imagine others will follow, and this will become the new store brand globally.

Nintendo announced that this slight name alteration will result in “no change to the service or products‘ offered. The change will come into effect later this month, on Wednesday May 27th.

The My Nintendo Store name has been with us for several years now. It’s the online store where Nintendo sells physical goods such as hardware, accessories, and exclusive goodies — such as this lovely Pikmin dish.

Not the most exciting of changes, but like Justin Timberlake said in the Social Network… it’s cleaner.
