Your Nintendo digest for the week ending May 3.

Ragin.
Hi , here’s issue #179 of Switch Weekly, with the week in Nintendo news. Not much in the way of commentary from me this week as today is my wife’s birthday 🥳, — sitting writing a newsletter isn’t the most sociable thing so I’ll keep it brief! 😅 Anyway, next week just over 20 games are hitting the eShop , including a decent selection of little indie titles — one is about a hungover Koala. 🐨
Big thanks for reading

Sources: Nintendo will not hold a June Direct this year — A recent report from Venture Beat , corroborated by VGC, suggests that Nintendo are to miss holding a June Nintendo Direct, for the first time since 2013. This lack of the usual summer presentation is said to be due to the current working from home arrangements bought about by COVID-19. It’s a shame, but completely understandable — however it does cast an even longer shadow over the Switch release schedule for the rest of 2020 and beyond. Andy Robinson // VGC REVIEW Streets of Rage 4 — After a 25 year hiatus this is “a worthy follow-up that is a love letter to the classic Genesis brawlers” . In fact, this is reviewing very well , seemingly across the board. Jared Rosenberg // Nintendo World Report The Ninjala beta turned this skeptical Splatoon fan into a ninja-gum hopeful Connor Sheridan // GamesRadar REVIEW ITTA — I really dig the look of this game, but it seems the gameplay challenge it offers may peak to soon. Darren writes: ” I loved how unsettled the world of ITTA made me feel, the wonderful Hyper Light Drifter-style visuals and incredibly fitting soundtrack. I just wish I felt the same way about the actual meat of the gameplay itself. “. Darren Palma // Nintendo Insider REVIEW Ministry of Broadcast — This one is now firmly on my wish list: ” A relentlessly impressive experience, Ministry of Broadcast is always enjoyable, often excellent and very clearly a labour of love “. Stuart Gipp // Nintendo Life REVIEW Telling Lies: An FMV mystery to unravel — ” succeeds as a piece of art, but whether it is worthwhile as a video game will depend upon the individual “. John Friscia // Nintendo Enthusiast 505 says Indivisible’s surprise Switch launch down to tool error, after dev airs concerns Matt Wales // Eurogamer Chinese gamers are snubbing the local version of Nintendo Switch in favour of imported consoles Josh Ye // South China Morning Post Nintendo seen extending profit streak as housebound consumers switch on — Nintendo’s latest earnings are expected to be reported soon. Sam Nussey // Reuters ▶ REVIEW Zhed —I shared this review of mine last week, but here it is now in video form.
