Nintendo has today added four new Game Boy and Game Boy Advance titles to the Nintendo Switch Online library. These include the 1991 top-down shooter Fortified Zone, 1992s The Sword of Hope II, and my all-time favourite Game Boy title Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 from 1994.
This first proper Wario game was pretty much always in my original DMG Game Boy. I must have been around 7 when I got the game, and found it far more engrossing and different from other platformers I had played up until that point. Wario’s adventures around the pirate-hive of Kitchen Island also posed a challenge that the previous Mario Land entry didn’t — and I loved it. It remains one of my favourite Nintendo games of all time. I’m honestly surprised it wasn’t already a part of the NSO library, but I’m glad to see it here now.
In addition to these original Game Boy titles, Expansion Pack subscribers will also gain access to the 2005 GBA title ‘Dr. Mario & Puzzle League’.
