Your Nintendo digest for the week ending March 1.

Red scarf.
Hi , here’s issue #170 of Switch Weekly, with everything Nintendo that you need to see from the past seven days. So, we’re in March now – which means I can say this: Animal Crossing comes out this month . 😃 Earlier this week I attended a talk by Masayuki Uemura – he used to be the head of Nintendo’s R&D 2 department during the NES and SNES days. It was interesting to hear from somebody inside the company, and he shared a few interesting design tidbits about Nintendo’s early videogame hardware. The Famicom’s red colour was chosen by then top boss Hiroshi Yamauchi – he had a red scarf which he liked the colour of, and the Famicom was made to match. Uemura also shared that the front-loading design of the NES was made to match that of a VHS machine – all part of Nintendo’s efforts to make the NES look less like a traditional videogame machine (most of which where top loading at the time). In other news, the State of Switch survey will be closing in just a few days , so be sure to fill it out if you haven’t had chance yet. Oh, and the Switch will be celebrating it’s third anniversary on March 3 — as such I want to know: what are your top three Nintendo Switch games ? Anyway, just over 15 games hitting the eShop next week, including Murder by Numbers and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon . The full list is below. Thanks for reading.
Cheers,
